What the room is like
Chicane is a dining room built around a stage. Most of what it books is music, but not all: a magician working the tables, a comedian between courses, cocktails made in front of the people drinking them. What they have in common is that they are the reason people stay for a third hour. Knowing that saves everybody time, including acts we are the wrong room for.
The room
A supper club, not a bar with a corner cleared. There is a stage, a riser and a house system, the tables face it, and there is room to work between them.
The night
Service runs tuesday – saturday, 4:00pm – 10:00pm. What you do usually sits inside that, not after it.
The audience
People who came for dinner and stayed for you. It rewards an act that can hold a room without shouting over it, and one that works close up as well as from the stage.
We book the room the way we cook for it: for people who came to stay a while.
